Low FODMAP Blueberry Smoothie

Lately I’ve been on the hunt for recipes that don’t trigger my IBS and this is a breakfast that sits really well with my stomach. So if you have IBS and you’re sick of eating eggs every morning, give this a try! It’s pretty simple in terms of ingredients and it tastes incredible.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp Peanut Butter (or just a big scoop if you’re me)
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk or other lactose free milk
  • 1/2 Cup Lactose free Greek Yogurt (I like Vanilla)

DIRECTIONS

Throw it all in a blender and enjoy!

The Original Recipe suggested adding a tablespoon of sweetener such as honey or maple syrup but I didn’t use any and I honestly don’t think it needs to be any sweeter. Especially if you have sweetened/flavoured almond milk.

I found this recipe to be great and it was a prefect breakfast. It didn’t keep me full as long as I would have like but, if I remember correctly, this drink is only a few hundred calories.

The link to the original recipe does not work anymore but I’ve linked the list it came from: https://www.dietvsdisease.org/low-fodmap-recipes-for-ibs/. They had lots of great recipes.

Disclaimer: I am not a dietitian and this should not be used as medical advice for people who suffer from IBS. This is purely my own opinion. If any of these ingredients are triggers for your IBS, do not try this recipe.

If you have IBS let me know what your favourite breakfast foods are!

Processing…
Success! You’re on the list.
